The Collier County Sheriff’s Office tracked down a girl who threatened to kill herself on a webcam, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office reports. Collier County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call at 2:31 a.m. Friday from a caller in Texas who said he was watching a girl in Naples on a webcam who was threatening to kill herself with a knife.

It once again resembled election season outside Marco Island City Hall Monday afternoon as citizen Joe Granda handed out buttons saying “Give Steve a chance” and “I support Steve Thompson.” Granda said the buttons were made by “concerned citizens” over the weekend when Islanders heard rumors of an attempted “coup” to oust City Manager Steve Thompson upon his six month performance review by City Council.

An 18-year-old Naples man faces multiple charges after he stole a pair of earrings at a Coastland Center mall store and then swallowed them when confronted by security, according to the daily police log.
