Collier County will buy a working marina on the edge of the Everglades — minus the boat slips. Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved paying .48 million for some of the Port of the Islands complex, which includes 1.4 acres of upland that could be used to build a fire station, boat and trailer parking and a marina building that houses stores and bathrooms. The county will pay .75 million cash at closing and a 8,000 seller donation.
