Florida Park Service officials headed back to Tallahassee after two days of meetings in Naples about a management plan for Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. After a public hearing Wednesday night, an advisory board that includes representatives of citizens groups, environmental groups, the Florida Division of Forestry, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission met Thursday morning to talk with the Park Service about the plan.
The Collier County School Board will not have seven members.
For now.
The board voted unanimously Thursday to end discussion about adding two additional members.
Instead, the School Board will express their intent to the Collier County Commissioners and the Supervisor of Elections office to work with both offices on growth issues facing the county following the 2010 census.

But if Wednesday had been any other night, Muirhead wouldn’t have needed her shotgun. “Just as he started to come through, it just hit me, ‘I’ve got to close the door,’†said Muirhead, 55, in an interview Thursday. The man Muirhead saw trying to force his way into her Estates home was a burglar.
