The weather looks wetter than normal for the area on Tuesday.

A sophisticated new weather satellite is on its way to orbit.

Stormy weather off Fort Myers Beach kicked up a waterspout in the Gulf of Mexico Friday morning.

Warm and humid weather will continue in southwest Florida. Expect daytime high temperatures to reach the upper 80s to lower 90s through the weekend.

The National Weather Service in the Tampa Bay Area has issued a heat Advisory which is in effect from noon today (Friday) to 7 PM EDT Saturday June 20, 2009.

A little push of dry and warm air above us has kept thunderstorms from developing today …. at least so far. I still think we will see a couple of storms pop up around sunset through midnight.

A few showers will drift across urban Southwest Florida around mid-day, but most of the thunderstorm activity will be east of I-75.

Hot weather continues through the weekend with highs running near 90 at the coast to the mid 90s across urban and inland Southwest Florida.

Severe weather caused two accidents on the water in Lee and Charlotte counties.

Authorities said three separate boat accidents Sunday were caused by bad weather on Lake Geroge at the Lake County and Volusia County line.
